The Next Great Fenway Doubles Hitter
Meet Kosuke Fukudome. He's helped Japan win the inaugural World Baseball Classic. He's an Olympian, helping Japan to achieve Silver and Bronze medals in 1996 and 2004. After having trouble playing the infield, he moved to the outfield and won 4 Gold Gloves. He's won the Central League batting title twice, once preventing Hideki Matsui from getting a triple crown. After a ridiculous year he won the CL MVP award last season, leading the league in batting average, runs, doubles, slugging, and OBP.

At the end of the 2007 season he will be a free agent. The Red Sox have shown interest in Fukudome (pronounced Fu-Ku-Do-May) and how the Green Monster may help him become even more of a doubles machine. We'll keep you up to date on any rumors, and keep you posted on Mr. Fukudome's final NPB season.
